Chris GQ Perry’s  Biography

Chris Perry is a 23 year old hip-hop/pop/R&B artist who grew up in Binghamton, NY. He not only sings, but he raps and that has made him dominate in conquering many different styles of music. He goes by the stage name “GQ”. The name GQ relates to his unique style, music, and overall image as an artist. The name was actually given to him years ago from a few friends who were just having fun and joking around about how Chris looks like he belongs in “GQ Magazine”. Who would have thought that name would become so powerful not only in the life of Chris Perry, but the many people who look up to him as an artist now. GQ always loved music growing up and started to notice his talent at creating music around the age of 14. Artist such as Michael Jackson and Bobby Brown are people who Chris admired as artist. They really inspired him in his early years. Growing up Chris spent a lot of time to himself, writing music and quotes that reached out to people and really related to their situations. A lot of his work is dedicated to real life emotions and people are really able to vibe out to his music.

GQ may have been young, but he was faced with many struggles and problems that he often relates to in his music. GQ would sit in his room for hours writing music and often times skipped out on other activities that most kids his age were doing. By the time he was 17 he had stacks of notebooks with thousands of quotes and lyrics, which he later used in a lot of his new music and quotes he posts online. Trey Songz, Drake, and Chris Brown are the new school artist who really influenced Chris’s music, and gave him motivation to become a successful artist as he became older. Some of his close friends still talk about how they could always find him in the cafeteria or the hallways in school free styling his music, in a rap battle, or just singing to one of the ladies who was having a bad day and needed to be cheered up. He always had a good relationship with women and they always seemed to enjoy GQ around. Kind of makes you wonder how he had time for the books huh? This was just the beginning of a path GQ is still on today and the past is what made him who he is as an artist. He is not on the level of success he would like to be as of yet, but the future looks bright for this young artist if he keeps the same dedicated work ethic.
In the present, GQ is working on his album “Reminisce” and is really taking his music career to the next level. Working hard, great ambition and raw talent is what allows GQ to grow as an artist. He has created a strong team around him and really pushes the fact that his team should be honest and loyal. In the words of GQ, “I have had many people in my life who have stabbed me in the back, and deceived me. That is why I feel it is very important to have a strong team who can communicate and be loyal to one another.” GQ believes that loyalty is what makes a movement strong and opens doors for a successful career. Making hit songs and performing all around the country are the things GQ is doing right now.

He has currently been to many B.E.T. showcases and traveled to perform in Miami, New York City, Toronto, and the list goes on. Keep your eye out for this young artist because he is on the rise and does not plan on stopping any time soon. Most importantly in the words of GQ remember “love is love, and loyalty is everything.”
